Are you required to act in my best interest?
Yes, we are fiduciaries. Your best interest comes first, always. We go above and beyond the minimum regulatory requirements to uphold our duty. You can visit our homepage to learn more about the principles that guide how we serve families.
Do you only work with people in Florida?
We work with families across the United States, and many of our client relationships are conducted entirely through phone and video meetings. While some clients prefer to meet in person, it is not necessary in order to receive a high level of service and ongoing guidance.
What does the introductory meeting look like?
The introductory meeting is a conversation focused on you. We will discuss your family, your priorities, your values, your concerns, and the broader picture of your financial life. It is also a chance for you to ask questions about how we work. We do not believe in high-pressure sales tactics, and we won't require a commitment from you during our conversation. If we believe your situation falls outside our area of expertise, we will tell you directly. No financial advice or investment recommendations will be made during the complimentary consultation.
Am I required to transfer my money to you, or have a portfolio managed by you?
No. We will bill separately for financial planning services. As part of that relationship, we can still provide an investment analysis and recommendations so you can implement the strategy on your own.
Will you advise or educate my adult children?
Yes. One of the ways we differ from most advisory firms is our willingness to support multiple generations within a family, regardless of age or current net worth. We believe financial wisdom should not stop with one generation. When appropriate, helping your family better understand investing, planning, taxes, and legacy decisions can create stronger outcomes for everyone.
I already have a Tax Professional and an Estate Planning Attorney. Will you collaborate with them?
Yes. We believe better outcomes often come from better coordination. Whenever possible, we are happy to work alongside your tax professional, estate planning attorney, and other professionals involved in your financial life. That may include attending meetings, joining calls, or helping ensure that strategies are clearly communicated and properly followed through. Many good ideas never get implemented because no one is connecting the dots. If you do not already have trusted professionals in place, we may be able to introduce you to someone.
What is your investment philosophy?
Our philosophy is to align portfolios with the values and preferences of the families we serve. We'll propose what we view as the most effective strategy for your circumstances, but we're happy to adjust based on your firmly held beliefs. If you have firmly held investing beliefs, tell us during the first meeting and we'll let you know how we can accommodate them.
Most of my money is in my 401(k) or company investment plan. Can we still work together?
Yes. Because employer-sponsored plans typically do not allow direct advisory billing, we bill outside the plan so you can still receive our advice and support.
When does it make sense to talk to a financial advisor?
Now. We believe proactive financial decisions almost always lead to better outcomes than reactive ones. If you are visiting our website, there's a reason. You may be wondering whether you are on the right track, whether something is being missed, or whether your current approach still fits the life you're living. If you're not ready to meet, consider subscribing to our newsletter, following us on social media, and reading The Paladin Journal.
I've had a bad experience with a financial advisor before. Why should I consider working with another?
That hesitation is understandable. Many people come to us after feeling disappointed by poor communication, generic advice, surprise fees, product pressure, or a relationship that felt transactional rather than personal. We encourage you to tell us what happened. That conversation helps us understand what matters to you and gives us the opportunity to explain how our approach is different. We built this firm in direct response to many of the industry habits that frustrate families.
Do you offer annuities?
Yes, when appropriate. We do not view annuities as inherently good or bad. They are financial tools that can be useful in certain situations and unnecessary in others. If an annuity is appropriate, we'll educate you on the type, how it works, and exactly why we believe it's worth considering. The decision is always yours. As an independent firm, we're not beholden to just one insurance company, which allows us to do continuous research and recommend the best options available.
Do you offer life insurance?
Yes, when appropriate. If we believe life insurance makes sense in your situation, we will explain the type of policy to consider, why it may be appropriate, and how much coverage may be worth evaluating. Being independent matters — we are not restricted to one life insurance company, which allows us to explore a broader range of options and pricing. Our role is to help you evaluate the decision clearly and thoughtfully. You are always free to decline.
I was a client at your previous firm. Why didn't you reach out when you left? Can we work together again?
That is a fair question. I would have preferred to communicate directly, but restrictions tied to compliance policies and contractual obligations made that impossible at the time. I understand how frustrating that may have felt, and I am sorry you were left without clarity. Yes, we can absolutely reconnect and explore working together again. I would be glad to catch up and learn how things have been since we last spoke.
I am a financial advisor and I respect what you are building. Are you hiring?
Possibly, but we are highly selective. We care deeply about character, judgment, and the way people treat the families who place their trust in them. Technical ability matters, but integrity matters more. We are looking for advisors who take service seriously, think independently, communicate clearly, and genuinely want to do excellent work for the right reasons. If that sounds like you, please complete our contact form and let us know you are interested in discussing opportunities with the firm.
What if I have a question that has not been answered here?
Please reach out through our contact form and send us your question. We aim to respond within two business days.
